I have been dreaming about writing books since I was eight years old. One of my favorite childhood games was pretending to be Jo March , the writing sister from Louisa Mae Alcott's Little Women.
Signing books for kids is a dream come true for me!
As an author I am all about literacy in children. I never miss an opportunity to read my children's books at schools and libraries to promote the magic of reading. My goal is to engage kids in books to help them fall in love with reading!
"Cal-Mum Pre-K was honored to have an author visit by Patricia Gleichauf. Her visit helped the children realize the importance of reading and to never give up on their dreams." Janet Cappotelli, Pre-K Teacher Caledonia-Mumford Elementary School.
Reading is the key that unlocks dreams! The earlier we can start introducing books to children, the sooner they will love reading!
Patricia, I want to share with you how much I enjoy reading aloud "Horses of the Sea" to my group of language delayed/dyslexic students. The colorful illustrations engage the children instantly, and as the story evolves with wonderful information about sea horses, the cadence of the rhyme of words begins to be anticipated by the children to finish the sentences with the correct words! This, along with the stress and intonation of words, make the book one that special need students need to have for a positive experience in literature...active engagement!
